IDI to Facilitate the Construction of 10 Connectivity Hubs Across Nigeria with Support from FCDO

Initiative for Digital Inclusion (IDI) has been mandated by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the UK Government (FCDO) to facilitate the construction of 10 community-led connectivity hubs across Nigeria.

This landmark initiative is designed to help bridge the digital divide by extending access to technology and digital resources in underserved and unserved communities. By providing reliable broadband connectivity and digital infrastructure, the hubs will foster inclusion, education, innovation, and economic opportunities for citizens who are often left behind in the digital space.

Identified Communities

Out of the 10 planned hubs, six communities have already been identified:

  • Okporenyi, Bende LGA (Abia State)
  • Kachia, Kachia LGA (Kaduna State)
  • Olayinka, Ifelodun LGA (Kwara State)
  • Ohafia, Ohafia LGA (Abia State)
  • Arochukwu, Arochukwu LGA (Abia State)
  • Kaltungo, Kaltungo LGA (Gombe State)

These projects aim to empower communities (especially youth and women) through sustainable access to digital tools, to enable them participate fully in the digital economy.
